This document is a lab report (Lab Report 9) for Electrical Networks (CET 3525) at New York City College of Technology, completed by Mahfuz Alam for Professor Changkyu Kim on November 9, 2020. It details an experiment focused on series sinusoidal AC circuits.
This report is intended for students enrolled in the course, serving as a record of their experimental work and analysis. It’s used to demonstrate practical application of theoretical concepts learned in class and to assess understanding of circuit behavior. This specific report focuses on parts 2 and 3 of a larger experiment.
This report does *not* provide a comprehensive tutorial on AC circuit analysis. It assumes prior knowledge of Kirchhoff’s Voltage Law, impedance, reactance, and phase angles. It also doesn’t include the full theoretical background or all parts of the original experiment.
The full report provides: a description of the experimental setup using Multisim Live, measured voltage values in a series RC circuit, calculations of capacitive reactance and phase angle, determination of input impedance, and analysis of a series RLC circuit. It also includes waveforms obtained from the Multisim Live simulation. This preview only describes the report’s scope and purpose.
