This document is a lab report for PEX-01-03, part of the Human Physiology I (PCB 3703) course at Florida International University. It details a student’s work on an experiment simulating osmotic pressure and cell transport mechanisms.
This report is primarily for the student to demonstrate their understanding of osmosis, diffusion, and the impact of solute concentration on cellular processes to their instructor. It’s completed after performing the lab activity and serves as a record of their experimental process and analysis.
This lab report focuses on experimental results and pre/post-lab quiz performance. It does *not* provide a comprehensive explanation of the underlying physiological principles, nor does it offer detailed instructions on how to conduct the experiment. A user still needs the course materials and lab manual to fully understand the context and complete the assignment.
The full report includes: pre-lab and post-lab quiz scores with question-level detail, predictions about experimental outcomes, observations and data collected during the simulation (including solute molecular weight cut-off, concentrations, and pressure readings), and written responses to review questions regarding osmosis, diffusion, and milliosmoles. This preview only provides a summary of the included data and quiz results.
